Susie Strong

HAMILTON – Susie Strong, 66, of Hamilton passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at her home of natural causes.  She was born July 22, 1952 in Santa Barbara, CA the daughter of Charles and Edith Avery. 

Susie was raised and educated in California.  She moved to Montana in her early 20’s.  Susie worked at The Creamery, in home health, the Ravalli Republic before retiring from Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital in 2018.  Susie loved living in Montana and loved people in general; giving a hug to anyone she would meet.  She also loved politics and all her animals, especially her parrots and kitties. 

Susie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Glenn Pettengill.  She is survived by 2 sisters, DeAnn Easley of California and Cheryl Avery of Arizona; her brother, Wayne Pettengill of Arizona; her beloved Sue Mills of Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Daly-Leach Chapel with a reception following the services in the funeral home’s community room.  The family suggests that memorials be made in Susie’s name to the Marcus Daly Hospital Foundation, 1200 Westwood Dr., Hamilton, MT  59840 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
