Sandra “Sandy” Wise, age 71, passed away in her home on Saturday September 15, 2018 after a long battle with COPD.
Sandy was born Sandra Louise Freeman on September 7th 1947 in Redlands, California to A.L. and Violet Louise Sorvig Freeman. Sandy has one older half-brother Rick and one younger brother James. When Sandy was born she weighed only 3 lbs. ¾ oz. She was the smallest baby to leave that hospital after a 3 month stay in the incubator. She could fit in a shoebox and her first bed was the bottom drawer in her parent’s dresser.
Sandy traveled across the U.S. as a young child due to her father’s employment. She learned a lot about different culture’s thanks to the travels throughout the country.
She worked for Mattel Toys and McDonnell Douglas-Boeing during the prime years of her life.
Sandy later followed her son to the state of Montana where she planted her feet on the ground in Hamilton. She loved the Bitterroot Mountains and the view from her home. She worked for Valley View Estates for a few years as the activities coordinator.
She had many lifelong friends that she had since kindergarten which she remained close to.
Sandy focused her senior years on her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father and her half-brother Rick Enga. She is survived by her mother Violet Freeman; brother James Freeman; son Richard Wise (Shawnel); daughter Deanna Wise; grandkids Christian Pressler (Naomi), Cassidy Hunt (Nicole), Winter Wise (Tony) and Harley Wise. She is also survived by her great grandchildren; Alexander and Carmen and her nephew Joshua Freeman (Lori and Family). She was loved by many family and friends. Sandy’s heart and spirit will live on in all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday September 23, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Daly-Leach Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until the start of the service.
