HAMILTON – Katherine Mae Lipus, 90, of Hamilton passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Marcus Daly Hospice Center. She was born April 24, 1929 in Kenwood, OH the daughter of Mike and Rose (Szalai) Gretchen.
Katherine was raised and educated in Adena, OH, graduating from Adena High School in May of 1947. She married Frank Lipus on April 24, 1948 in Adena. Shortly after they married, Katherine and Frank moved to California and raised their children. Together they moved to Hamilton in April of 2005 to be closer to family. Katherine’s greatest enjoyment in life was her family.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; and numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by 2 children, daughter, Sandi Lipus of Hamilton and son, Frank Raymond Lipus and wife Georgianna of Hamilton; her brother, Robert Gretchen of Pennsylvania; 2 granddaughters, Darcy Reichert of Hamilton and Tara Roberts and husband Jed of Spokane, WA; 5 great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Laci, Ali, Bre and Mark all of Spokane, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Daly-Leach Chapel with a reception following in the funeral home’s community room. Interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice.
