Dora Hughes Bretz

Dora Hughes Bretz, 90, of Hamilton and Missoula passed away April 10, 2018 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.  Dora was born December 12, 1927 and left this world for her heavenly home April 10, 2018.  

She was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  Dora started attending Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri in 1945.  In the summer of 1953, she came to Montana to teach vacation bible during which time she met her future husband, Don Hughes. They married September 10, 1954.  

For most of their married life they lived in Hamilton where she taught kindergarten for over 30 years. They were married until Don's passing in 2004.  Dora was a licensed minister with the Assembly of God Church.

Dora is survived by her daughter, Darla Abraham; her son, Don Hughes; her granddaughters, Makenna & Kaleena Hughes and grandson Colton Abraham; her siblings, Jean Mugford, Pauline Carlson, and Willis Chaulk; and her second husband, Frank Bretz, who served as an attendant in her marriage to Don Hughes in 1954.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; and brothers, Arthur and Warren Chaulk .

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Assembly of God Church in Hamilton with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.  There will be a reception following the committal service at the Assembly of God Church.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
